Going into gear with motor not running really does not say much, as the motor and tranny are not under any stress. They tell me they have a problem getting the car to shift into gear. Q: My car won't go into gear.
About half an hour later I went out to move it and couldn't get it into gear.

When I release the brakes and go into drive it doesn't "get" into gear. Apparently, my clutch was diminished and it was causing the pressure plate to sit crooked. It looks like a foot on a brake.
