The clutch is much more likely to be the problem than the transmission. do you mean wont disengage? does the pedal feel normal, or like its pushing nothing?cant put it in gear? or goes in gear but wont move?. if. I don't know what people think your clutch is bad. If the lever moves into a gear but the mower doesn't move, it could be a broken belt or a bad transmission.

If it goes into gear with the engine running and the clutch pressed in then its not the clutch.
Mine's doing the same thing replaced filter fluid input output sensors and I'll gear besides reverse or forward gears but when in reverse it feels like it's fighting the brakes suggestions. I know if there isn't enough it can behave that way but it seems that if anything, I might. When I put it into gear it attempts to move forward, but doesn't move, almost like it is being held back.
