It's important to carefully check the trims of the vehicle you're interested in to make sure that you're getting the features you want, or that you're not overpaying for features you don't want. Using your screwdriver, gently wedge it between the door and the trim and slowly pry the tabs free. I used a trim removal tool, got it underneath it and popped it right off.
To reinstall the door pieces, stick the end with the two teeth back.

I did this once in a vectra is was a ba****d of a job. electrics everywhere and actually all the dash and metal frame etc had to come away and unplug all the electrics. This refers to the plastic trim surrounding the base of the steering wheel column. I have warped my dash trim with carbon fiber, and all the removals were DIY.
